Speaker after speaker encouraged the children to be God fearing disciplined and hard working in school.Harmony with the community was one area that most speeches emphasized as we do not exist in isolation with the community.
One of the kids gave an emotional speech emphasizing ion her past life as compared to what she is experiencing one year after being at the Hope Centre. One good thing was that she attributes the changes to God. Of particular interests was her life in school which has improved. She courageously said how she is grounding herself in the word of God at the centre. She thanked the Almighty for these before all those who attended.
The social worker Mr. Jabez Abuya spoke at length on how we conduct our programmes at THC. He talked about how the organization emerged from a call of God to the Carters who are 8000 miles away. He also talked about the two programmes which we currently run; Home Based Care for orphans whom we have retained in the community and supporting their quality care through their extended families. The other project of course is the orphanage project which we were celebrating its rebirth. Here the objective is to provide institutional care for orphans with very special needs. He also emphasized to the community our Vision.
The manager thanked everyone whom God has given the ability to participate on this course. The childrenwho are the subject, the community in whom we peacefully live among them, the Alaro family ,the schools and the church where our children grow. He also gave special thanks to the founders and sponsors who strive to ensure this charity thrives. Special acknowledgement also went to staff who go to great lengths to ensure the kids feel the LOVE.
