Living Hope is pleased to welcome Sherwood and Bethany Griggs to the Hope Centre as our new managers. They come to us as no less than a gift from God. Long before we met them, both Sherwood and Bethany knew God was calling them to work with children in a Kenyan orphanage. Obedient to Him, they left their home in Smyrna to visit Kenya for several months to seek the place He would have them serve. Within a few days of their visit, God confirmed to them, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors that His purpose for them is to serve at the Hope Centre.

Although Bethany has visited Kenya several times working with children, this will be a new adventure for her. Her background is in teaching. Managing an orphanage puts her in a place where she will need to rely on God’s strength. He loves to do that!

Sherwood’s story is different. When he stepped off the plane in Nairobi in the middle of August, it was his first time in Africa! Talk about obedience!! His background is as a surgical technician. With that, he can assist our children and staff with medical needs. He can also help our friends at the Marendi orphanage in Migori when medical teams visit.

Sherwood and Bethany have already started their work at the Hope Centre. They have quickly gained the trust and respect of the rest of the staff. They have shown a heart for the children and most important a great love for Jesus Christ. We are truly blessed to work together with them.
